Internally in good condition, largely clean with numerous colour plates. Volume II. 1853. Good.vii192pp. Original blue blind stamped cloth binding with gilt titles to spine. In amazing condition, protected by custom made box, a few minor marks to cover, not bumped or rubbed, internally bright and clean. Frontispiece has fold out map, six further fold out maps. Owners book plates pasted to endpapers; A New Biographical Dictionary by Stephen Jones. 1796. Second edition. Very good. Not paginated. Binding as above, but with some minor damage to leather on inside edge, some small scuffs. Also with owners book plate to front endpaper; Dictionary of the English Language. 1797. Fifth edition. Good++. Same binding as above but some bumping and rubbing, ink and other marks to cover. This volume has been used, unlike the other two but binding is still tight, internally clean apart from ink remarks to title page and ink dedication on flyleaf. All contained within custom made wooden box bound identically to volumes. Gold paper covering edges torn in places, edges rubbed but still solid, corners have some chips. This is a delightful set of 18th century pocket dictionaries, three of a set of five published between 1795 and 1799.
