Half-bound in black leather, gilt titles and decoration to spine. Marbled paper covering rest of boards largely lacking but boards themselves still solid. 1833. viii.374pp. Volume I only of three volumes. Good for its age, binding tight, paper hinges torn only at endpapers, edges of text block marbled. Internally some age tanning and spotting to edges but otherwise bright and clean. Several charming b/w engravings in text plus two foldout maps of Africa, although sadly one of them has a part missing. This is the only damage internally. The Children's Weekly Visitor was a 19th century periodical for children published every Saturday from February 2nd, 1833, adding up to 3 volumes. This volume includes articles on countries, animals, plants, spelling and mathematics, Christian religion, each edition with several illustrations. This is a rare copy. Bookseller Inventory # 004850
