Volumes 1 to 7 (Vol. 8 missing) of a set. All bound with black cloth with pasted on paper label to spine. Page edges untrimmed. 1895 edition. Text in English, translated by I.G. Burnham. All in good condition, bindings tight, some bumping/rubbing to corners and spine ends. Slight tanning to page edges but otherwise bright and clean internally. Frontispiece to each volume has b/w photogravures with paper guard, further 5 or 6 photogravures in each volume. Illustrations are all after drawings by various artists including Jacques Wagras, F. Prudhomme, R. de Los Rios. Stories include 'The Man in the Iron Mask', 'Martin Guerre', 'The Borgias' etc. A nice set but sadly missing the final volume.
