ALS from Frank Gibson affixed to rear paste-down on letterhead from Hotel Washington, Curzon Street, Mayfair- 1 page folded and not dated- presumably at the time. Two book reviews have also been neatly affixed, one from The Literary Supplement to the Illustrated News, hinged over the ALS, the other review from The Times, Thursday December 11, 1913, to the free endpaper. The ensuing free rear blank has clippings concerning Conder neatly pasted in. Taped, now almost loose, to the front free endpaper is an ALS from Eugenie Joachim-Gibson to Mrs Rogers, one page folded to make four sides, dated Dec. 4, 1913. Item Description: Hogarth Press, London, 1929. Cloth. Book Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Fair. 1st Edition. 1st edition. Pp. 172. Brown cloth, lettered gilt to spine. At very good copy- brds. are very clean and bright, lettering is sharp. As is often the case, the jacket being so fragile, this jacket can only be considered in fair condition. The frt. panel and rear panels would be considered very good however the spiine panel is seperated from frt. panel along fold- now held together in a mylar jacket- the lettered spine title is missing from top to "Virginia Woolf"- about 3"- and most of the letterng of "The Hogarth Press" to tail of spine is also missing, with only "The" and a the "g" and "a of Hogarth remaining. It would not be too costly or difficult a venture to have the jacket professionally repaired, and the book has been priced accordingly. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
