Book Description: Strong, Ezra, New York, 1837. Orginal Calf. Book Condition: Interior Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Non Issued. 1st Edition. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. You're buying the interior because calf boards are well worn around the edges, front one detached, back one hanging on by one big thread. The spine is a mess, cracked and flaking off. Title page is detached. A few following pages are loose. However, the remainder of the interior is tight, clean, with some light age toning, a rare spot of foxing, mostly limited to the 12 plates at front of the book. No writing or stains. Most interesting is the author's attitude toward war. "Human Butchery" and his words: " if the commanding officers didn't have troops they wouldn't be so famous" are cutting. Could not find a reference to this author but would love to more about him. He seems so righteous and angry. Bookseller Inventory # 002582
