Item Description: Children's Bookroom, London. Pictorial Cover. Book Condition: Fair. A book of stories and poems for children, illustrated with lovely full-colour, full-page colour plates. Colourfully illustrated boards, multi-colour titling on front, red text block edges, back board is a full-page colour advertisement for Fry's Pure Concentrated Cocoa, depicting Little Red Riding Hood taking Fry's Cocoa to her Grandmother (whose tail is peeking out from the bedding,) red cloth spine, advertisements on end papers, colour frontispiece, illustrated title page, illustrated with many full-colour plates as well as some smaller black and white engravings, book is unpaginated. Boards have significant edge wear and shelf wear, some creases and light stains, but colour is still bright, wear to spine ends and edges but spine is intact, spine colour is darkened but still red, hinges cracked at front and rear, binding is shaky but textblock is still attached, previous owner's name stamped on reverse of frontispiece, page edges darkened, foxing spots and other marks in text. In spite of flaws, this is a handsome book - the plates are surprisingly vivid; book would be a good candidate for rebinding. Shipping charges are calculated for a standard parcel under 1 kg. Additional charges will apply for heavier shipments, but not until the customer agrees. Canadian customers, please note that applicable sales taxes will be added. Please contact us with any questions you might have. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Bookseller Inventory # 016238
