Skippy Post is pleased to announce to AbeBooks sellers in Australia that we have negotiated a long-term supplier relationship and strategic alliance with Spring Global Mail, a joint venture between TNT, Singapore Post and Royal Mail. Spring is the largest private International Mail provider in the world with a presence in over 100 countries around the globe.

Skippy Post has identified a range of products and projects utilising Spring's depth of experience, logistics expertise and access to global mail networks that will help Skippy Post better service its expanding customer base. Spring has recognised the potential for Skippy Post to offer unique customer service solutions in the Australian postal market, especially for small-to-medium sized business, via its web portal at www.skippypost.com.au.

Since launching in September 2006, Skippy Post has found a loyal following among booksellers and other online traders, but until now it has not formalised a long-term supplier relationship with a single mail provider.

Shipping via Spring has now started. By the end of August, Skippy Post expects to be able to offer a number of new advantages for its customers, including daily shipment processing (ending its previous practice of aggregating and despatching on a twice weekly basis), and a premium parcel service that is fully traceable online with a signature on delivery. It is anticipated that other products, services and innovations will follow. Pricing will be reviewed as the new operation beds down but no substantive changes are expected at this stage.

Following discussions with AbeBooks Australia and New Zealand Representative, Philip Israël, Skippy Post has agreed to offer AbeBooks.com sellers based in Australia a special rate that is applicable for approved trade booksellers, representing a further discount on the retail rates shown on the main Skippy Post Web site.
