CS Tip - Ways
to Prevent Rejected/Cancelled/Returned Orders
by Beth
Preventing orders that are rejected, cancelled, or returned will have a
positive impact on not only on your completion rate but also on your bottom
line. More fulfilled orders and fewer returns mean larger payments!
To prevent returns:
• Describe books accurately. Consider each description from the
buyer’s perspective; what would you want to know if you were buying
this book?
To prevent rejected/cancelled orders:
• Refresh your inventory often, particularly when listing on multiple
platforms.
• In the case of heavy or oversized books, be sure to include a
clear note that extra shipping will be required in the shipping terms,
to prepare the buyer.
To prevent orders from expiring:
• Check the web site at least once per day for new orders, rather
than relying on email notifications.
CS Tip - Managing your Filtered Listings
by Sara
If you ever find that some of your recently added books are not showing
up online, one place to check for these books is in your list of filtered
books. Filtered books are books that do not make it onto the AbeBooks site
due to data in the descriptions that violate the AbeBooks policies.
To check for your filtered listings:
1) Log into your AbeBooks account with your email address
and password
2) Click on the “Filtered Books” link in
the bottom right-hand side of the page
3) A list of books affected by filters will appear. On
each filtered book record will be the "Why is This a Filtered Listing?"
link. Click this link and all words that trigger the filters will be highlighted
in yellow.
Note:
If you do not have any books filtered, you will still see the "Filtered
Books" link; however, no book list will appear if you click the link.
Removing Books from the Books Filtered List:
In your inventory management system remove any Web site addresses, business
phone numbers or terms of sale and upload the changes to AbeBooks. When
the file processes, the book will be removed from the filtered list.
