Notice: BNBQ Program Closing

Dear Bookseller:

On Monday, July 25th we will officially close the Abebooks/BNBQ program, as announced on June 27th, 2005. Your books will automatically be removed from the Barnes & Noble platform.

Please remember that the policies of the program will continue to apply for all sales received through BNBQ. BNBQ will be accepting returns from customers for books ordered through our program until September 30th, 2005, so it is important that you continue to accept and process returns from BNBQ customers during this time.

Until the program has been closed, please also continue to process any BNBQ orders within 2 days of receipt to avoid these orders from expiring.

Hello,

We have an important announcement regarding our Abebooks reseller programs.

Over the past 7 years our relationship with BNBQ has been a very important part of the growth of the Abebooks marketplace, and we sincerely appreciate the role that Barnes & Noble has played in the success of our business. However, this summer we've had to make a decision: continue our relationship with BNBQ at a time when they are making systems changes that would require support from Abebooks' own internal resources, or remain focused on the development of our own marketplace at a time when we are preparing many improvements. After much discussion, and with the support of our colleagues at BNBQ, we have decided to focus our resources internally and end our existing partnership.

It hasn't been a quick or an easy decision for either company, but we're confident that it's the right one for us, and for you, at this time, and leave the door open for future endeavors.

If you are currently enrolled in BNBQ, we will be contacting you shortly to advise you regarding the details of the program closure, which we anticipate will happen at the end of July. We will work with Barnes and Noble to make the process as simple as possible for you.
