
The Nobel Prize for Literature
In his will, Alfred Nobel stated that prizes for Literature
be given to those who, during the preceding year, "shall have conferred
the greatest benefit on mankind" and that one part be given to
the person who "shall have produced in the field of literature
the most outstanding work in an ideal direction." The prize, therefore,
is not associated with one particular book, but bestowed upon an author
who produces works consistent with Nobel's vision. Create your own collection
