WITH CAKE AND DRAW FOR TRIP TO NY
BOOTH #653
(Los Angeles, CA, April 24, 2004) - AbeBooks.com, the world's
largest online marketplace for books, is celebrating its eighth
birthday at the Los Angeles Festival of Books this weekend.
"We're here to celebrate with the 1,120 independent booksellers
in California who list books on AbeBooks.com and with every booklover
who has ever found a book on AbeBooks.com," explains Lisa
Stevens, Director of Marketing at AbeBooks.
AbeBooks is celebrating over the weekend by handing out birthday
balloons and fans, and serving free birthday cake at 2:00pm each
day at the AbeBooks booth, #653 in Zone F.
As a birthday gift to the crowd, there will also be a draw after
the festival for a trip for two to New York City, complete with
round trip flight provided by Orbitz, and three nights accommodation
at the famous Library Hotel on Madison Avenue. People can enter
the draw online at www.abebooks.com/LAfestival until May 21, 2004.
Since AbeBooks.com began listing used, rare and out-of-print
books for small booksellers in 1996, the website has grown to
list over 50 million books for over 12,000 booksellers in 44 countries.
AbeBooks is celebrating eight years of helping independent booksellers
sell their books online-whether these are secondhand paperback
novels, used textbooks, collectible classics, rare first editions,
hard-to-find out-of-print books, or new books.
To mark this milestone, AbeBooks is also launching a new, visually
exciting campaign at the festival: "Because you Read"-
will be announced to the festival crowd with over 5,000 bookmarks
and other giveaways.
