ABEBOOKS TEAMS UP WITH YAHOO! WAREHOUSE
Agreement brings abebooks book inventory to Yahoo!'s new commodity goods shopping
platform
9th January 2002
(Victoria, BC) - AbeBooks, the world's largest source for out-of-print
and hard-to-find books, today announced an agreement to supply
its book inventory through Yahoo!'s new commodity goods shopping
platform, Yahoo! Warehouse (http://warehouse.yahoo.com).
Participating booksellers of the latest abebooks.com program
will see their inventory in Yahoo's Warehouse program. This opportunity
will expand the market for used, rare and out-of-print books and
present a selection of abebooks' 30 million titles to Yahoo! Warehouse
consumers.
"Our relationship with Yahoo! Warehouse will help expand
our offering," says Brent James, CEO of abebooks. "We
are proud to offer our dealers a new way to significantly increase
their sales and exposure through this renowned venue."
Yahoo! Warehouse shoppers can easily purchase books from participating
abebooks.com member booksellers through secure product ordering
and convenient shipping options.
"We are pleased to be working with abebooks.com to offer
our consumers easy access to hard-to-find books," said Brian
Fitzgerald, senior producer, Yahoo! Warehouse and Yahoo! Auctions.
The new reseller program is free for abebooks.com member booksellers
and provides a broad new marketing opportunity through Yahoo!'s
fixed price discount marketplace.
As part of the New Yahoo!® Shopping network, Yahoo! Warehouse
(http://warehouse.yahoo.com) is the latest addition to Yahoo!'s
commerce area and represents the newest way to shop on Yahoo!.
Yahoo! Warehouse provides consumers with a new commerce property
where they can buy and sell used, overstocked, and clearance commodity
goods at a low cost. Consumers can easily find discounted items
or make money by selling a variety of items such as CDs and books
and DVD's.
