ABEBOOKS ANNOUNCES PROMOTION OF BORIS WERTZ TO CHIEF OPERATING
OFFICER
(Victoria, BC, November 1, 2003)-AbeBooks, the world's largest
online marketplace for used, rare and out-of-print books, today
announced the promotion of Boris Wertz to Chief Operating Officer
of AbeBooks.
Boris moves from his role as Vice President, Marketing and Business
Development into this newly created position where his expanded
responsibilities include overseeing marketing and business development,
customer service, product development, and bookseller communications.
"I'm really looking forward to this new challenge,"
he explained.

Boris Wertz joined AbeBooks when JustBooks, the European online
book marketplace that he helped found, was acquired in 2001. At
JustBooks, Boris was responsible for Marketing, Business Development,
IT as well as the international expansion of the company into
the UK and France. Before starting JustBooks, Boris successfully
finished his PhD as well as his graduate studies at the Graduate
School of Management (WHU), Koblenz, majoring in Business Economics
/ Business Management.
