ABEBOOKS ANNOUNCES "WIN YOUR TUITION" CONTEST WINNERS
(December 17, 2003, Victoria, BC) - AbeBooks, the world's largest
online marketplace for used, rare, and out-of-print books, today
announced the winners of their "Win Your Tuition" contest:
Julia Shuffler of Baltimore, Maryland and Adrian Dunn of Elgin,
Scotland.
In September 2003, AbeBooks launched a "Win Your Tuition"
contest for students in North America and the UK. The contest
was launched to celebrate the creation of Textbook Central, an
area on AbeBooks.com and AbeBooks.co.uk that gives students, faculty
members, librarians and anyone needing books for school, direct
access to over five million used and new textbooks. (www.abebooks.com/textbooks)
Julia Shuffler and Adrian Dunn were selected as winners from
over 300 entrants using a random number generator. Julia is studying
Interactive Design and Web Publication at the Community College
of Baltimore County in Maryland. Adrian is a student at Moray
College in Elgin, Scotland where he studies Environmental and
Heritage Studies.
When Ms. Shuffler won she remarked, "Shopping with AbeBooks
has saved my time, money, and sanity. Now, thanks to the wonderful
people at AbeBooks, the best part is knowing my next semester
is already paid for!"
Textbook Central makes it easy to search for books by subject,
ISBN, author, or bookseller location. It also provides a list
of textbook price comparisons, and a list of common college reference
books. AbeBooks.com was recently cited as the cheapest place to
buy books for school due to discounts of up to 90% compared to
new textbooks sold at traditional bookstores.
