books, abebooks.com will unveil a new direction for online book
commerce at the Seattle Antiquarian Book Fair, September 22 and
23, 2000. AbeBooks.com's new product will enable shoppers in Seattle's
bricks-and-mortar bookstores to access the world's largest web-based
inventory of books, coming from a network of more than 6,500 booksellers
across the planet.
Any bookstore in Seattle may use abebooks.com's
new BookCase product to assist in-store customers in finding and
purchasing out-of-print and hard-to-find books. This will help
all bookstores increase their inventory, selection and customer
satisfaction, without paying extra costs for storage or program
participation. The BookCase product is currently in a test phase
in British Columbia, Canada and will be launched in bookstores
across North America this winter.
