ABEBOOKS INTRODUCES
SERVICE HELPING BOOKSELLERS LIST USED & RARE BOOKS FOR SALE
ON EBAY
New service positions AbeBooks as the first "book-centric"
listing service provider for people selling used and collectible
books on eBay and AbeBooks
19th June, 2003
(VICTORIA, BC - June 19, 2003) AbeBooks, the online source for
used, rare, and out-of-print books, today launched a new service
that offers an efficient method for booksellers to manage book
listings on eBay, The World's Online Marketplace®
The service was created in response to AbeBooks community of
eleven-thousand independent booksellers who wanted an easier way
to list books in fixed price and auction environments without
having to maintain separate databases. The AbeBooks service includes
preparation, uploading, monitoring, and management of eBay book
listings.
By making it easier for booksellers to manage multiple book listings,
the service is expected to result in an increased selection of
collectible books on eBay.
Boris Wertz, AbeBooks VP of business development and marketing
explains: "AbeBooks becomes the first 'books-focused' service
provider for people selling used books online who also want to
list books on the eBay marketplace. We're happy to offer a streamlined
way for our booksellers to sell on eBay-in both the fixed price
and auction-format."
Said Mike Harkey, general manager of books for eBay: "We're
excited about this new service from AbeBooks. It enables AbeBooks'
customers to rely on their expertise in listing and managing online
book sales in a variety of ways."
