ABEBOOKS PARTNERS WITH GARDNERS TO OFFER 40 MILLION SECONDHAND, RARE AND OUT-OF-PRINT BOOKS TO UK BOOKSHOPS

(Victoria, BC)- AbeBooks, the world's largest online marketplace for secondhand, rare and out-of-print books, today announced a strategic partnership with Gardners Books, one of the UK's leading book wholesalers. The two companies will work together to make AbeBooks' inventory of 40 million books available to bookshops that use the Gardners website.
This new inventory partnership enables the UK and International bookshops that purchase books wholesale from Gardners to access the world's largest inventory of secondhand, rare and out-of-print books on AbeBooks' UK website-www.abebooks.co.uk

Commenting on the announcement, Boris Wertz, AbeBooks' vice president of business development and marketing said: "The bookshop business is important for us. For Gardners this partnership offers an additional service for their bookshops, and for bookshops this means they'll be able to offer an additional service to their customers."

This partnership comes one month after AbeBooks entered the UK market. The company launched a UK site www.abebooks.co.uk at the Edinburgh Book Festival on August 20 by filling a Mini-BMW with rare books and inviting the public to guess the number inside.
