For immediate releaseCALLING ALL KIDS – CREATE A LITERARY MASTERPIECE AT THE WRITERS FESTIVAL(Victoria, BC – 10 October 2007) Is the child in your life bursting with stories and creativity? If so, AbeBooks.com is bringing its Story Laboratory program, a unique book-building workshop designed for kids, to the Vancouver International Writers and Readers Festival next week. Manned by AbeBooks.com staff, the Story Laboratory sessions help children put their stories on to paper and then create their own book. Students from various Vancouver elementary schools will be participating in the Story Laboratory on 16, 17 and 18 October, but the workshop is open to all youngsters on Friday 19 October – a professional development day in Vancouver’s schools. The Story Laboratory usually attracts children between the ages of eight and 12, but any child can attend. The Story Laboratory, from 11am to 4pm, can be found behind the Kid’s Only Market beside the Cat’s Meow Restaurant and the Granville Island Water Park. AbeBooks.com, the Victoria-based online marketplace for new and used books, supplies all required materials for the creation of a literary masterpiece. AbeBooks.com launched the program last year with frequent book-building workshops at public libraries around Victoria. Next month, the Story Laboratory can be found at the Wordstock literary festival in Portland, Oregon – its first appearance in the US.
