Abebooks Community: Reporting a Violation

At the bottom of each post, there is an "Options" link. If you roll your mouse over the "Options" link, a small pop-up menu will appear (if you have JavaScript enabled). Choose [Report Violation]. You will be asked to select a reason for reporting the message, and will be asked for any additional comments. The Community Administrator and Moderators are notified of the complaint. If you do not have access to the "Options" link, you can e-mail us with as many details of the violation (who, what, when, how etc...) as possible. Filing via e-mail results in a slower resolution of the complaint, as the e-mail goes to our Customer Service department rather than to the Community Administrator or Moderators.

Report a Terms Of Service Violation

Abebooks strives to provide you with a high quality forum. We respect everyone's right to express their thoughts and opinions as long as those thoughts and opinions are respectful and meet our terms of service.

If you have read a message that you feel violates our terms of service, we recommend that you do the following:

•  "Ignore" the poster using our Ignore Feature. This feature allows you to "self-censor" the discussions. By placing an "Ignore" against a member, his/her posts will never appear for your viewing again.
•  Opposing points of view and contrary discussion points help make this forum a thoughtful and passionate place for community members of all disciplines to express their thoughts. Therefore, we recommend you use Ignore only against offensive or disrespectful members, those appearing to spam or advertise, or those violating the Terms of Service.
•  To ignore a member: Go to a post by the member you wish to ignore and click on his membername. In the resulting popup window, called a Profile, a link will appear on the right hand side titled "Ignore Poster". Click that link and you will never see this member's posts again. The Options menu also provides a link for Ignoring a member.
