Retrieving a Forgotten Password

Occasionally, you may forget the password for your AbeBooks account.  The "hint" you created when you created your account is available for you to view and remind you what your password is.

To view your password hint:

1. Click [sign on] above the red banner.
2. Enter your e-mail address in the text box under "Existing Accounts."
3. Enter any characters in the Password text box.
4. Click the [Sign On] button.

Your password hint is now displayed.  If you remember what your password is now, enter it in the text box and sign on to your account.

If you still cannot remember your password after viewing your hint, AbeBooks can send an e-mail message with your password to the e-mail account you use with AbeBooks.  Amazon book buyers can retrieve their Abebooks-generated password using this method as well.

To retrieve your AbeBooks password:

• Click [Forgot your password?].

An e-mail will be sent to you containing your password.  

Notes:

• You are required to enter your e-mail address in order to retrieve your password.  The e-mail address you enter has to be the one associated with your AbeBooks account.  
• As a security measure, you cannot request that your AbeBooks password be sent to any e-mail account other than the one associated with your AbeBooks account.
