As an online network of independent Booksellers, AbeBooks does not warehouse book inventory, but rather facilitates the shipment of books directly from the Bookseller to you, the book buyer. Each seller sets the shipping rates and speeds for orders placed with them through the AbeBooks site. Sellers also decide what method of shipment they will use. Therefore, you will see differences in shipping costs and shipping speeds for different copies of books. Shipping costs also do not include domestic duties or taxes.
Please note: Shipping times cannot be guaranteed. They are only estimates based on the carriers' delivery times, and do not include weekends or holidays, and Customs processing. If your order will pass through Customs, please expect a delay. Shipping speeds can also be affected by holiday seasons and world events.
When you search for a book, your search results display the standard
domestic shipping rate (i.e.
A bookseller in the USA shipping to a USA address.) A link to each seller's
shipping rates and speeds is also provided with the individual listings.
On the Search Results screen, locate the item that you are interested in purchasing.
The standard domestic shipping rate is displayed
to the right of the price. To
view other shipping options or to see rates and speeds for other shipping
addresses, click on the link, [Rates
& Speeds].

The Shipping Rates window opens to display the
speeds of shipping and the rates offered by the seller listing that particular
book. The additional items rate and the Bookseller Shipping Terms will
also be displayed. Rates
for shipment to other countries are displayed by selecting the country
from the "Choose a destination
country" drop-down list.

In your shopping basket, you'll see the shipping rates and available shipping speeds. You can choose the speed that you'd like for your order here, before beginning the checkout process. Simply click on the drop-down arrow next to the displayed shipping speed/rate and click on your choice.

If you have any specific questions regarding shipping or have specific requirements, please contact the bookseller.
These 3 simple steps will help you save on shipping!
1. Order early: You can select a slower, less expensive shipping method.
2. Double up: Most booksellers offer a shipping discount on orders of multiple books.
3. Buy local: Choose books from a bookseller in the same area as your shipping destination for overall lower shipping costs. You can search by country, province or state with our advanced search field. Use [Narrow Your Results] in the right column of the search results page.
