Uploading Pictures

Book buyers are often more comfortable buying books online when they have had the opportunity to view their purchase beforehand, especially when the condition of the book is a major concern or when the item is particularly expensive.  You can upload .gif and .jpg pictures of your books as long as they are less than 35KB in size and their file name is identical to that of the books they identify (for example, a picture for book number 001234 is required to have a file name of 001234.jpg or 001234.gif).

To upload a picture to AbeBooks:

1. Click [sign on] and enter your E-mail Address and Password.
2. Select [Uploads] from the Members Menu.
3. Click [Upload your book pictures (gifs and jpgs)].
4. Click [Browse] and locate the file you would like to send us.
5. Click the [Send File] button.

Once the picture file has been processed, it is linked to the corresponding book record and an image icon will be displayed beside the book in the "Search Results" page.  Click the image icon to view the picture.

Notes:

• It can take approximately 4 hours for a picture to be linked to the corresponding book.
• We require the file name for the picture to be the same as the book number.  For example, a picture for book number 001234 should be 001234.jpg or 001234.gif.
• If you have several pictures and would rather not send them one at a time, you can archive* all of them into one file and upload the zipped file to us by FTP.  This is the same procedure as sending us a file of your books.
