How Your Book Listings Are Displayed

The more information provided about a book, the more likely a book searcher will become a book buyer. For this reason, listings include:

• Your bookstore name

• Your contact information

• Your Terms of Sale

• Your Shipping Terms

• A representative stock picture * (where available and if a picture has not been provided by the seller)

• Your book description

• A synopsis of the book *

• Reviews *

* A stock picture, synopsis and review will be displayed only if available and is matched to your book information .

A book buyer will access this information from the search results screen. Note: If you have provided a photograph of your item, this will be distinguished by a camera icon being displayed next to the book listing on the search results screen. Clicking on the book title brings up the book details, while clicking on [Bookseller & Payment Information] brings up your bookstore information, Terms of Sale and shipping information.

Book Details

The book details screen provides you further information regarding the selected title. Your bookseller name, the book price with a currency conversion link and a link to the shipping rates and speeds offered by you are displayed at the top of the screen. The option to add the book to the shopping basket is also available. If you have provided a picture of your book this will be shown otherwise, a stock photograph, where available, will be displayed . If a picture is not available for your listing, a placeholder stating “Image not available” is shown. Note: Where AbeBooks provides a matching picture, a notation of [Stock Photo] is displayed informing potential buyers that the picture is not the exact representation of the item being sold. If you have provided a picture of your book, this will supersede a stock photograph and will be indicated on the Search Results page by a camera icon next to the book title.

Clicking on [View Larger Image] opens a new window displaying a bigger photo image:

The “About the Book” Tab supplies:

• Your description of the item you are selling

• A synopsis

• Reviews

Bibliographic information is shown on the right of the screen.

Description: This is the description that you have provided. Details should include the book condition, and any other pertinent descriptive information useful to the buyer.

Synopsis: (When available.) Provides a summary of the contents of the book. This information is obtained from a database based on the ISBN or other relevant book details. Note: The synopsis cannot be edited.

Reviews: (When available.) Also retrieved from a database, the reviews section offers an examination of the material included in the book, the storyline or the book’s main characters. Note: Changes cannot be made to reviews included with the book listings.

Bibliographic Details

The Bibliographic Details displays the ISBN (if applicable), Publisher, Publisher Date and Binding information for your book listing. If this information is not provided when you add a book, AbeBooks will automatically populate this information by matching ISBN information to our ISBN database. If a match is not available, the bibliographic details will be unpopulated. If you choose not to enter this information yourself, you should verify the information that is matched and displayed with your listings.

Bookseller & Payment Information

Bookseller information can be reviewed either by clicking on the “Bookseller & Payment Information” tab from the Book Details screen or by clicking [Bookseller & Payment Information] within the search results.

Bookseller Information includes:

• Your bookselling name

• Your location

• Terms of Sale

• Shipping Terms

• Accepted payment methods

Note: This information is drawn from the details that you have saved to your account.
