Book buyers are often more comfortable buying books online when they have had the opportunity to view an example of the edition they are purchasing. When the condition of the book is a major concern or when the item is particularly expensive, buyers find it helpful and reassuring to see a picture of the actual item. You can upload .gif and .jpg pictures of your books for display with your online listings. In order to process successfully, pictures should meet the following criteria:
Maximum height of 600 Pixels
Maximum file size of 100 KB
72 dpi (dots per inch)
File names are identical to that of the books they identify (for example, a picture for book number 001234 is required to have a file name of 001234.jpg or 001234.gif).
Note: If your picture file exceeds the maximum file size of 100 KB, the file will be rejected and you will receive e-mail notification of this.
Processes for resizing and editing images depend on the software you are using. AbeBooks does not provide support for image or photo editing software but a lot of information is available through the Help documentation provided with the software and equipment or on the internet.
