Returning a book

If you bought a book from another member bookseller, you may find reason to return a book to the bookseller or to request a refund for a book that has not arrived.  You can initiate the return from the "Track Your Purchases" page within 14 days of receiving the book.  

To initiate an AbeBooks return:

  1. Click [sign on] and enter your E-mail Address and Password.
  2. Click [Your Purchases] in the Members Menu.
  3. Click [View your purchases] in the Your Purchases menu.
  4. Display your orders:
  5. Click [Item Details] beside the book you wish to return.
  6. Click the [Request to Return Book] button on the "Item Details" page.
  7. Select an option from the [Return Reason] list.
  8. Type an explanation for the return in the [Comments to be sent to seller] text box.
  9. Click the [Initiate Return] button to complete your request.
 

An e-mail message is sent to the bookseller, including the comments you entered, and an e-mail confirmation about the return is sent to you. The e-mail messages include the following information:
