Brent James
Chairman of the Board
Brent brings a strong management and marketing background to Abebooks.com. He has worked with some of British Columbia's most successful technology companies including Mobile Data International (MDI), and Richmond-based Mobile Data Solutions Inc. (MDSI), a company that he helped found and grow and take to the public market. Mr. James holds a Masters of Science degree in Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.), and an undergraduate degree in Commerce from the University of British Columbia.

Hannes Blum
President, Abebooks and Member of the Board
After working in strategy consulting for the Boston Consulting Group for three years, Hannes was one of the founders of JustBooks, the German company that Abebooks acquired in 2001. At JustBooks, Hannes acted as managing director overlooking business in the German, UK and French market with a focus on Finance, HR and Corporate Development. He holds a Masters degree from the Technical University Karlsruhe, where he graduated with honors in an integrated study of Business Administration and Engineering.

William Yu
Director, Intrinsyc Software Inc. and Member of the Board
William has extensive experience in finance and investments in both public and private firms. He is the principal of Cansbridge Capital Corp., where he performs due diligence reviews, negotiations and investing on the company's behalf. He was a co-founder, ex-CFO and ex-COO and is currently the director of Intrinsyc Software Inc., a TSE-listed public company and a leader in technology solutions to create, link and manage network of embedded devices. William earned his Master of Business Administration with Honours and his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Queen's University.

Franz J. Erath
Investment Manager, Member of the Board
Franz has extensive knowledge in money management and the legal aspects of international business. Currently is an investment manager for Burda Beteiligungs-Holding based in Munich, one of the largest venture capital firms in Germany. Franz also brings his experience as an attorney to Abebooks' Board of Directors having worked for Heiss and Partners and as legal counsel to Daimler-Benz Aerospace AG. Franz earned his MBA from INSEAD in France, holds a PhD in Law, and a LLM from Georgetown University. Franz is also fluent in English, French, and Italian.

Christoph Braun
Managing Director Burda Digital Ventures, Member of the Board
Christoph currently is Managing Director of Burda Digital Ventures, the Corporate Venture Capital arm of Hubert Burda Media, Munich/Germany. Christoph also serves as Director Treasury for the group. Before joining Burda in 1997, he worked for McKinsey&Company, Inc. in Frankfurt and San Francisco on a client portfolio in the FMCG and media industry. Christoph holds an MBA from The Tuck School at Dartmouth, and earned his Doctorate in business at the university of Munich.
