Rare Book Room: Permanent Homepage Feature Launches
We’re pleased to announce the launch of a dedicated area on the Abebooks.com homepage that will be devoted to showcasing the unparalleled selection of rare books available from Abebooks booksellers, and we invite you to actively participate.
The Rare Book Room will highlight rare books by focusing on different themes from week to week. We also look forward to including special educational features such as, “How to Build a Rare Book Library,” “What is a First Edition,” and more.
We would like to hear ideas and suggestions from booksellers who specialize in rare and antiquarian books, and encourage you to send us an e-mail at features@abebooks.com describing your inventory/area of specialty. This is a great opportunity to highlight unique books in your inventory, and to build a profile for your store through targeted exposure to 800,000+ unique visitors to our homepage each week.
We will work to match your books with other rare booksellers’ collections to fit a theme. Our next rare book features will include:
- Atlases and maps
- English literature – with a focus on specific authors such as Dickens
- Children’s books
- Field guides
Thank you for your support, and we look forward to hearing from you.

| Abebooks in New York this October – A bookseller evening and New York is Book Country
Abebooks staff will be in New York City from October 2 to 5, participating in the New York is Book Country Festival, and hosting a bookseller evening.
If your bookstore will be participating in the New York is Book Country festival, we encourage you to take advantage of free Abebooks promotional materials to help drive traffic to your booth. To have your bookstore/booth number promoted on our free bookmarks at the fair, and to receive a supply of free promotional materials (like pens, erasers, etc.), please e-mail us at booksellerevents@abebooks.com. We have had great feedback from booksellers who participated in similar programs a the Printer’s Row Book Fair in Chicago, and the Hay on Wye Festival in the UK, earlier this summer.
Additionally, we invite any Abebooks’ booksellers in the NY area to come to our wine and cheese event in Manhattan on Monday, Octoer 3 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (location details will be forthcoming shortly). If you know in advance that you would like to attend, please email us at booksellerevents@abebooks.com
