Preventing Returns For the Reason “Item Not as Described”

In some cases buyers will return a book “not as described”, even if you’ve typed a clear and accurate description. Sometimes it is due to a difference of opinion between you and the buyer, but other times this can be due to the way you maintain your book data. Three common ways to prevent “not as described” returns:

• Do not reuse BookIDs
• Ensure you send accurate ISBN data
• Ensure we are properly processing your book attributes

Amazon Optimization

On Monday, we introduced refinements to the Amazon.com Reseller program to increase the accuracy of ISBN matches and optimize uploads of files providing faster processing of books in the program. Effective immediately:

• A new minimum price of $2.00 is in place for the Amazon.com program. Only books priced $2 and above are being uploaded to the Amazon.com web site.
• Increased levels of ISBN confidence matching is in place for all programs. Only books with ISBNs provided by the bookseller and those that have been matched with the highest confidence using our ISBN-matching service are being uploaded to the Amazon.com web site.

These improvements will help all sellers in the program by increasing the accuracy of books listed and placing minimum standards on the types of books sent to the Amazon.com web site. Please note that these refinements will be in place for uploads and current listings. Books not meeting this criteria will be removed in the coming weeks.

BNBQ Shipping Manifest - Now Live

Barnes & Noble shipping manifests, which were formerly in PDF form, have now been replaced with traditional HTML manifests. This means a more user-friendly format for you, with none of the PDF-related technical and printer problems.
