Abebooks Testing Update

Domestic Shipping Rates in Search Results

Thanks for all the input you provided over the past month as we tested the effectiveness of displaying domestic shipping rates in search results. The test period is now concluded, and we will analyze the results over the next few weeks. To help us in our assessment, please take a moment to complete our short feedback survey.

Google AdSense Test

Over the next two weeks we will be testing the impact of including Google Sponsored Links in our search results. These links are intended to compliment your listings, not compete with them. We’ve worked hard to block competitive sites from appearing, and internal testing indicates that we have achieved a successful balance. We will continue to refine the results during the course of the test, and these ads will be visible to only 10% of customers.

Google AdSense ads are becoming industry standard, and our hope is that these links will enhance customer experience with our site. To report a link that you believe should be blocked, or to give us your opinion, please contact Customer Support.

Before books are uploaded to Amazon, edit checks must be performed. Books that do not have valid prices or that contain information that is deemed unacceptable by Amazon.com are filtered out prior to the upload. Abebooks Free Shipping Promotion

We will continue to promote booksellers who offer free shipping on Abebooks.com. If you would like to take part in this promotion, please set your US Standard shipping and extra item rates to 0 (edit your shipping matrix now). If you have any questions about this promotion, please feel free to contact our customer service department.

Multiple Accounts on Amazon.com  

We are currently in the process of moving towards multiple accounts for our Amazon reseller program. These smaller, geographically based accounts will enable us to generate quicker, more effective uploads, and result in fewer cancelled orders and increased overall sales. [Read More]

Reminder: Redirecting Policy

We would like to remind all booksellers that it is against Abebooks policy to redirect traffic and sales outside of our system. This includes placing web addresses in book listings, advertising your web site to potential buyers when responding to an "Ask the Bookseller a Question" inquiry, or actively pursuing any online or offline sales via our web site. Reduce Your Amazon A-Z Claims - Add Tracking Information!
Amazon guarantees the purchase of items ordered through their web sites for return reasons "Item did not arrive" and "Item not as described." If a buyer initiates an A to Z claim for an item that did not arrive, they will be refunded unless the bookseller has previously provided tracking information online for this order. I recently received as a gift from my mother copy of Ernest Thompson Seton's Two Little Savages (copyrighted 1928) and must say that I am thoroughly impressed with the condition of this book. I originally received a copy of this book many, many years ago as a young boy from my Grandmother, a truly well-read lady, and it instantly became a favorite for me and my brother. My brother still has that old book but it is in pretty bad shape now after years of reading and weathering. But upon hearing about your service, I quipped to my mother that I bet you didn't have that book. Boy, was I wrong. She purchased a copy as a gift for me that is, in my opinion, in better shape than you advertised. And at a incredibly reasonable price. A truly delightful gift to have received and I will always cherish this book.
