TIP:
Textbook Season is Ramping Up!
Over
80% of our buyers have told us they have students in their lives, and textbooks
are clearly needed (see our Bestseller list at right,) so make sure your textbook
prices are competitive! Use our Price Comparison feature when entering books
to see how other Abebooks booksellers have priced the same title. You can also
check Amazon and Half/eBay to see how competitive sites have priced their textbooks.

TIP:
International Editions
Many booksellers
list International Editions (mostly textbooks) on our site. However, the Amazon
& Half.com programs do not allow International Editions to be sold on their
Web sites, so be sure to exclude them by including the correct keywords. [Read

Second Test – Domestic Shipping Costs in Search Results
In May, as a test, we exposed domestic shipping costs in search results to a random sampling of 10% of our customers. The results were very positive – we
saw increases in conversion rate (number of visitors who bought a book) and the
number of return buyers. At the same time, we saw decreases in the shopping
cart abandonment rate and in the average shipping and handling charges per order.
All these results indicate that including domestic shipping costs in search results
sells more books to more people.
To further
confirm our results we are conducting another test in August – this time,
50% of our visitors will see domestic shipping costs in search results.
The test will run for one month, and we’ll
carefully review all of the resulting data and your feedback to
determine if this will become a permanent feature.
