As we announced last month, Abebooks will begin accepting payments for all MasterCard and Visa transactions on our websites starting April 3, 2006.

Since we already process these payments for you, the only change you'll see is a reduction in credit card processing fees for orders placed on Abebooks.fr and Abebooks.de to 3.5% per order. These fee reductions require new wording in the Bookseller Agreement, so there will be a new version on April 3, 2006.

Effective at 12:01 a.m. on April 3, 2006 (PST), the Abebooks Agreement dated April 1, 2004 will be automatically amended by being replaced with a new Abebooks Agreement dated April 3, 2006. Changes include revisions to the Abebooks Program Guide, Bookseller Policies, and Fee Schedules. The new agreement can be viewed in detail in Bookseller Central. [View the New Agreement.]

It's not necessary to sign the new Agreement; it will automatically apply to all current Abebooks booksellers who continue to list their books with Abebooks after April 2, 2006. If you have any questions about the new agreement, please refer to our FAQ page or contact our Customer Support team.
