| Dear
(bookseller),
Over the next
few months, we'll be launching a number of new improvements to
our inventory management systems and related features, such as
HomeBase 3.0, Buyer Search Attributes, and an improved Browse.
We are now
launching a new ‘beta’ version of our Online Inventory
Management System where we have added quantity and the ability
to assign multiple catalogs.
Quantity
You can use the quantity field instead of listing a title multiple
times, or instead of restoring it each time a copy is sold. For
example, if you list a book with a quantity of "3,"
we'll automatically reduce it to 2 as soon as one copy sells,
so you don't need to upload any changes to us.
If
you already use our online inventory management system, we encourage
you to try this feature out. If you use another system, please
keep in mind that your changes will be over-written the next time
you upload with that program. We invite everyone to sign on and
check out the new feature though! The quantity field will be available
to all booksellers, no matter what inventory management system
you use, within the next few months.
Multiple
Catalogs
Starting next week, we'll allow online inventory management users
to assign up to three catalogs per listing. You'll have a few
weeks to edit your listings and add more catalogs using this new
feature before they appear in your Browse page.
All books
assigned to multiple catalogs (up to 3) will be found in those
additional catalogs on the bookstore Browse page starting next
month – whether you use HomeBase, our online system, or
another program.
As
with all of our beta-tests, we appreciate your feedback. We invite
you to sign on to your account to check out the Online Inventory
Management System updates within the next few weeks, and let
us know if you have any questions or comments.
We look forward
to launching these upcoming projects that will make listing your
books easier for you, and finding your books easier for buyers.
Sincerely,
Your Abebooks
Team
