    New AbeBooks Shopping Basket
    We're very pleased to announce we've launched our new Shopping Basket. We've reviewed extensive comments, suggestions, and advice from our shopping basket users, and have added great features, like a 'Save for Later' option. Please try it out for yourself!


    Updates to Browse Categories
    The Bookseller Advisory Group has provided their feedback on the AbeBooks Browse Categories list. We'll be adding some new sub-categories and updating a few of the category names before we launch. Some of the updates include Juvenile Fiction being re-named "Children's Fiction," and the addition of a Civil War sub-category under History>Military. [See the full list]

    Reprints and Ephemera
    The Advisory Group has also provided their feedback about Reprints and Ephemera. We've added new definitions to our Glossary for these terms. [Survey Results.]

    You've probably noticed the "An Abebooks Customer Wants Your Books!” e-mails we send out, but might be wondering how to use them to sell more books. Whenever you upload a new listing, or a buyer adds a new Want, a match can be made. [View the Top 3 ways booksellers use these reports]

    Holiday Season Preparation
    It may seem early but the Holiday season is nearly here. Now is the time to ensure you're prepared! Rare books, collectors' editions (such as collectible Christmas stories,) gift sets, new books, and out-of-print titles are popular gifts - check your inventory to make sure they're online. This is a good time to re-evaluate your shipping rates and speeds; customers are attracted by quicker speeds and lower ship costs during the holiday season.

    Your Holiday Gift Recommendations
    Your customers want expert opinions, so this year we'll be compiling a list of booksellers' gift recommendations. This is a great chance for you to market your store and your books; if you would like to be included, just tell us about one book from your inventory that you think would be a great gift idea. Be sure to include a photo of the book and the description. E-mail your submissions to features@abebooks.com.

    AbeBooks at the Fairs
    It was nice to see many of you at the Seattle Antiquarian Book Fair & Book Arts Show, the ILAB 2006 Book Fair in New York, and the Frankfurt Book Fair. We look forward to seeing those who will be at the Boston International Book Fair in November, and at CIROBE this weekend in Chicago - visit us at
