We have some very exciting news to share with you today: Seller Ratings are launching for you to view in the search results and within your account. Once you've become familar with the new system and have provided your feedback, the ratings will be exposed to buyers.

How do seller ratings work?
Up to five stars, based on your completion rating, will appear next to your store name in the search results. Check out Help Cental for screenshots, instructions and answers to your frequently asked questions.

• Your completion rating represents your completed orders: those that aren't rejected or returned. Buyer cancellations, partial refunds, and returns accepted for the reason "Buyer Changed Mind" aren't included in your rating.
• Buyers will see your 6-month rating in the search results, and can view your Ratings History (3, 6, 12 and the current month) on Listing Details.
• You can track and break down your rating from the Members Menu.

How do seller ratings benefit me?
Happy buyers are more likely to become frequent buyers, so we're showcasing bookellers who reject the fewest orders and receive the fewest returns. No matter what your rating is, you'll benefit from seller ratings.

• Buyers have more confidence buying from booksellers with higher ratings, so top-rated booksellers may see an increase in sales.
• Booksellers with lower ratings have the opportunity for improvement. A higher rating not only translates into buyer trust, but more shipped and non-returned orders mean larger payments!
• Buyers often ask us to implement seller ratings; we hope this addition encourages more visitors to make their first purchase - and then additional purchases in the future!
• Plus, you'll have improved tools for tracking your unfulfilled and returned orders, making it easier to identify trends and make improvements.

We want your feedback!
Seller ratings are a big change, and we want your feedback before we show them to buyers. Please spend some time over the next week with the Ratings Tracker and looking at ratings in search, and then take our survey to share your feedback.

Here are a few changes we already have planned:

• Listing Details includes a chart where buyers can see how the ratings line up with the star images. We'll add this chart to your Ratings Tracker screen, too.
• We're updating the ratings refinement in search to exclude ratings if no sellers are available. (For example, if there are no 5-star rated sellers with a particular title, we'll only display the 4-, 3-, and 2-star refinements.)
• Right now, the rating displayed in search is based on your past 3 months of orders; this will be updated to your 6 month rating.
