Textbook Season is Fast Approaching!
Every Textbook Season on AbeBooks is busier than the last. We’re already gearing up for an exciting July, August and September and wanted to offer a few tips to help booksellers prepare for the rush. Review textbook season best practices.

Seller Ratings Launched to Booksellers
As announced in a recent Bookseller Bulletin, Seller Ratings were launched to booksellers on May 29. Based on your completion rate, up to five stars will now appear next to your store name in search results. Find out how to improve your completion rate.

We're giving booksellers an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the new system before it's released to buyers. Check out Help Central for screenshots, instructions and answers to your frequently asked questions. We very much appreciate your feedback and once it has all been carefully reviewed, Seller Ratings will be made public.

If you haven’t already done so, we encourage you to take the Seller Ratings survey, located here. Even if you’ve already taken the survey, it’s possible to go back and change your answers once you’ve become more familiar with the system.

Rare & Antiquarian Refinement in Search
In the June Roundtable Chat we announced that the Rare Book Specialist search refinement will be removed. We reviewed the tremendous amount of feedback that we received from a great many booksellers, and have decided that removing the refinement is the best course of action at this time.

New Format for Monthly Roundtable Chats
In order to make more efficient use of the Monthly Roundtable Chats, we are introducing a new format. A few days prior to the chat, a Forum thread will be opened where booksellers can submit questions and suggestions for discussion topics in advance. Do You Have The Highfield Mole in stock?
Last week AbeBooks experienced huge demand for a self-published book called The Highfield Mole. Heralded as the next Harry Potter, it is due to be republished in early July with a new title, Tunnels. On 12 June, it was possible to buy an original self-published copy for $14. Six days later, AbeBooks sold a copy for almost $2,000. If you have any copies of The Highfield Mole, please load them on to the site, as buyer demand continues.

Books From Around the World
We're taking AbeBooks buyers on a 'literary trip around the world' as we promote books from a series of countries in our newsletters and on-site. Our first stop was Brazil. Over the next five months we'll be featuring India, Australia, Kenya, Denmark, and Thailand. If you have books you'd like to see included in these features, let us know - we'd love to hear from you!
