It sounds like a murder mystery, but the unique first-person narrative turns the novel into something else. Christopher discovers his neighbor's dog impaled on a pitchfork and sets out to find the killer. The twist is that the narrator is a 15-year old boy with autism, and the mystery he ends up solving is a lot closer to home than he expected.
