We have a winner! The vote was neck and neck between Peony in Love and Bridge of Sighs, but at the last moment Bridge of Sighs by Richard Russo pulled ahead and won as the next novel to read. While there was quite a lot of interest in The Chosen by Chaim Potok it couldn't quite compete with the two newer books.
