After several years of collecting, scouting, and selling books Tom and Heidi Congalton issued their first Between the Covers catalogue in 1985. Located in Merchantville, New Jersey (close to Philadelphia), Between the Covers Rare Books, Inc. specializes in modern first editions of literature, mystery and detective fiction, African-Americana, Books into Film, Signed and Association Copies, and books about sports. Tom Congalton is one of the nation's leading experts on Modern First Editions. He is a past President of the ABAA (Antiquarian Booksellers' Association of America) and is currently a trustee of the ABAA's Benevolent Fund. Tom was also a founding member of the ABNJ (Antiquarian Booksellers of New Jersey). Dan Gregory has been the General Manager of Between the Covers since 1996.
