HomeBase 2.3 Release Notes

Please read these important notes before downloading AbeBooks HomeBase 2.3.

1. HomeBase Upgrade (v2.3) will work with AbeBooks HomeBase v2.1 and 2.2. If you are currently using v2.0 or 1.1 please download the full version of HomeBase 2.3

2. You may experience compatibility issues with AbeBooks HomeBase 2.3 and older versions of Eudora e-mail software. AbeBooks HomeBase 2.3 is compatible with the most recent version of Eudora (version 5.2.1) AbeBooks HomeBase 2.1 is compatible with previous versions of Eudora

3. AbeBooks HomeBase is supported as a stand-alone product and not as a shared network application

4. If you are sharing HomeBase through a network, it is imperative that all networked computers have the same version of HomeBase

The following is a summary of major changes from HomeBase 2.1 to HomeBase 2.3:

Invoice

1. Ability to indicate that taxes are included in the price on the invoice from "View > Options> Editing" menu. "Taxes included" is calculated and displayed on the invoice below the total in the Invoice screen
2. From "View > Options> Editing" menu, add "Include these taxes on invoice by default." If selected, the boxes on the invoice will also be checked to include taxes on invoice
3. Field added to invoices to insert a tax number on the invoice
4. Date/Time stamp now fits into the field displayed on the invoice for easier viewing
5. Allow user to change information on the invoice before the client id is entered

Reports

• Status and Catalogues added to pull down menu

Export

• Added to the export function the ability to export Clients, Categories and Invoices in addition to HomeBase 2.1's Books and Wants for easier querying and reporting of this data

Help

• New help documentation presented in HTML format

Price Comparison

• New Price Comparison feature to allow booksellers to compare up to 20 similar titles by viewing prices and descriptions from the Add a Book screen from within HomeBase 2.3. The 10 least expensive and 10 most expensive books are displayed

Live Update

• Reminder every 60 days (this number is modifiable by the user) to check AbeBooks and download any fixes, new features, or enhancements to HomeBase 2.3

General

• New installation procedure has been created to improve the ease of installation and to fix minor bugs in the installation process
• Changes to the overall AbeBooks HomeBase look to be consistent with the AbeBooks web site branding
• Removed page to download Load Version 1.x data during installation. This function is still available by going to appropriate link under Tools
• Some column headings changed to better describe data
• Bug that was not allowing users to print multiple copies is fixed
