About Dr. Books

We are charter members of ABDASC, the Antiquarian Book Dealers Association of South Carolina and have been in the used and out-of-print book business since 1990. Come by our shop which is close to the University of South Carolina, and browse our books and meet our resident Siamese cat, the venerable Mr. Hobbes. Our hours are generally Tues-Sat from 11:00 to 5:30 but call first, just to be sure we're open. We have approx. 15,000 books in great condition at affordable prices in just about every category, ranging from Anthropology to Zoology, with a lot of UK modern firsts (many signed) for good measure.

Bookstore Terms

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Paypal, Discover, AmEx,and checks and money orders payable in dollars and drawn on US banks. We can also accept sterling checks. Libraries can be billed. Media mail postage for the United States is $3.95 for the first book; $2.00 for each additional book. Heavy books may require additional postage but you will be notified about this. Orders usually ship within 2 business days. Shipping costs are based on books weighing 2.2 LB, or 1 KG. If your book order is heavy or oversized, we may contact you to let you know extra shipping is required.
