About H.L. Mendelsohn, Fine European Books
Our store, which I share with another bookseller (Robin Bledsoe, Bookseller) who specializes in books on art and horses), is located near Harvard Square in Cambridge, Mass., about a ten minute walk from the subway station. We have a large selection of out-of-print scholarly books on the history of the visual arts from ancient times to the present, with many titles in European languages.
Store hours are: Tuesday through Saturday noon to 6pm (and at other times by appointment).......
My own specialty within our overall coverage of the visual arts is the history of architecture and design in 20th century Europe, and my stock includes a rather large number of books that are quite scarce not only in the USA but even in their original place of publication in Europe. I have been a specialist in this area since 1981 and, in addition to working with collectors, I have supplied a substantial quantity of hard-to-find books to a number of North America's leading architectural libraries....... If you have a chance to visit our shop in Cambridge, I am sure you will find that, with respect to the twentieth century, the quality and range of our joint stock of art and architecture books will both surprise and tempt you. If a visit is not possible -- and speaking for my own share of the shop's inventory -- please try searching my ABE listings using the relevant Keywords, in particular, "design" "architecture," and "landscape"; searches by country and by type of publication i.e., "monograph" and "journal," are also possible.
