Placing Your Order

Once you have found the book you want, placing your order is fast, easy, and secure.

We recommend that you sign on to your AbeBooks account or create a new account before searching and ordering. Creating an account is free and only takes a few minutes, It also allows you to proceed through the check-out faster.

How to Create Your AbeBooks Account

To place your order:

1. Click the [basket] link at the top of any AbeBooks web page.

2. Review the contents of your basket to ensure only the books you wish to purchase are present. If there are books in your basket you do not wish to purchase, click [Remove] to delete them, or click [Save for later] to keep them in your basket for purchase at a later time.

3. Select a shipping speed from the drop-down menu for each item in your basket. (Shipping rates and speeds will vary between booksellers.)

3.a. If you have a Coupon Code, enter it in the appropriate field and click the [Update] button.

4. When you have confirmed that only the books you wish to purchase are in your basket, that the shipping rates and speeds are as you have selected, and, if applicable, that your Coupon discount has been applied, click the [Proceed to Checkout] button.

5. Select your payment method from the drop-down menu. (If you are not paying by credit card, proceed to Step 7.)

6. If you are paying by credit card, enter your payment details and billing address in the spaces provided.

Optional - Select [Save this payment method for future purchases] to make checking out faster in future.

Optional - In the 'Billing Address' section, select [Use as shipping address] and/or [Make this my preferred shipping address], if either of those options apply.

7. Click the [Save & Continue] button.

8. Confirm or enter your shipping address. Click the [Edit] button to make any changes.

9. Confirm your payment method, shipping address, books ordered, and shipping speed[s]. Click the [Edit] button next to any of these to make corrections.

Optional - Click [Print this page] to print a copy of your Order Summary for your records.

10. Click the [Place Order Now] button.

A 'Thank you' page will display, confirming that your order has been submitted. Make note of your Sales Order Number, (in red).

You'll receive a confirmation email from us within a few minutes, and another email when the bookseller has processed your order for shipment. If your order includes books from multiple booksellers, you'll receive a confirmation email from each of them.
