Becoming an AbeBooks Bookseller

AbeBooks is the world's largest online marketplace for new, used, rare and out-of-print books. Thousands of booksellers list on the AbeBooks Web sites and sell their inventory to book buyers worldwide.

AbeBooks' booksellers automatically have their books listed on our six Web sites: abebooks.com, abebooks.co.uk, abebooks.de, abebooks.fr, abebooks.it, and iberlibro.com. These Web sites expose your books to millions of buyers around the world.

To Access the Bookseller Application Form:

You first need to create an AbeBooks account to become a bookseller. Once you have a buyer account, you need to sign the AbeBooks Agreement and complete the online bookseller application form. We require your contact information, as well as your bank account and credit card details so we can pay you for your sales and you can pay your monthly subscription and commission fees to us. Please have your banking information, credit card, e-mail address and contact information with you before you begin the application process.

AbeBooks fees and charges are viewable here.

Getting Started:

1. Choose your inventory management software:
We recommend our HomeBase™ program which can be downloaded for free. (Yes, we said free!) If you are planning to sell across multiple markets, in addition to Homebase, you might also want to consider AbeBooks subsidiary FillZ. You can try it free to 30 days. FillZ helps with: inventory management, re-pricing and order management across multiple markets.

2. Decide what payment options you will accept:
Abebooks accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and JCB payments but you can also choose to accept other payment methods.

3. Banking Info:
Collect your bank details, credit card information, and your business contact information. (Note: AbeBooks accepts only Visa or MasterCard for bookseller fees and charges.)

4. Tax Numbers:
If applicable, have your GST (Canadian Goods and Services Tax) number or your VAT (European Value-Added Tax) number available.

When you're ready, you can access the online application form here.
