Updating Your Credit Card Information

 

Storing your credit card in your AbeBooks account and setting it as your default payment method makes the check-out process quick and easy. Your credit card data is encrypted on our secure server and is never shared with anyone, so you can feel safe and secure shopping on AbeBooks.com.

You can easily add, update or remove cards from the Members Menu.

 

Accessing Your Credit Card Management Screen:

 

1. Sign on to the Members Menu with your e-mail address and password.

2. Click [Your Personal Information].

3. Click [Update your saved Credit Card Information].

The Credit Card Management page displays details of the cards you have online, including the description that you can use to distinguish between your cards, (i.e. "corporate card," "my card," "rewards card," etc.).

For added security, the credit card number is not displayed on this page.

 

Adding a New Card to Your Account:

 

1. Select the type of card you want to enter from the 'Select Credit Card' drop-down menu. For example, if you are entering a new Visa card, select, "New visa."

2. Enter the card details and the associated billing address.

3. Assign a Card Description to the card, i.e. 'Corporate Card' or 'Rewards Card,' to make it easy to identify for future purchases and updates. Note: You can only use a particular Card Description once. If you are saving subsequent cards, each must be assigned a unique Description.

4. Select the [Make this my preferred payment method] and [Make this my preferred shipping address] check boxes, if those options apply, to make checking out even faster and easier.

5. Click the [Save Changes] button to save the card information in your profile.
 

Editing a Saved Card on Your Account:

 

1. Select your saved credit card from the [Select Credit Card] drop-down list. You can identify the card by the Card Description that you assigned to it.

2. Enter the correct credit card information and associated billing address. (Note: The card number cannot be edited. If you wish to update the actual card number, you will need to delete the card by clicking the [Delete Credit Card] button and then re-enter it as a new card.)

3. Click the [Save Changes] button to save the updated card information in your account profile.

4. Select the [Make this my preferred payment method] and [Make this my preferred shipping address] check boxes, if these options apply, to make checking out even faster and easier.

*** Note: Once the [Save Changes] button has been clicked and your details have been successfully submitted, you will see a green check-mark icon with a message saying, 'Thank you - Your card details have been saved.' If there are any errors or incomplete or missing fields on the page, an error message will be displayed instead.***

 

Deleting a Saved Card on Your Account:

 

1. Select your saved credit card from the [Select Credit Card] drop-down list. You can identify the card by the Card Description that you assigned to it.

2. Click the [Delete Credit Card] button at the bottom of the page.
