Paying a Bookseller Directly

 

There are two types of orders on AbeBooks: e-commerce and bookseller direct. All Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and JCB orders are e-commerce, which means that AbeBooks is accepting and processing the payment. All orders using an alternate  payment method, (such as check, PayPal, or money order), are bookseller direct. 

If your order is bookseller direct, the bookseller will hold your book until payment by your selected method has been received. If the bookseller has not yet contacted you to arrange payment, you can use the instructions below to contact the bookseller directly:

1. Sign on to your AbeBooks account with your Email Address and Password.

2. Click [View My Purchases] from the Member Menu.

3. Click the [Item details] button located to the right of the item.

4. Click the [Ask Bookseller a Question] button.

5. On the Book Inquiry page:

• Ensure your email address in the From text box is correct.
• Enter the subject of your inquiry.
• Type your question to the bookseller.

6. Click the [Send Question] button.


The email we send on your behalf automatically includes the book details. A copy of the email is also saved in your AbeBooks account and sent to your email address.
