Archives Book Shop of East Lansing, MI

The Archives Book Shop is an oasis in time, with material from the 16th Century to the 21st Century. This is an antiquarian store, located a few blocks from picturesque Michigan State University and the Red Cedar River. We have a wonderful grey tabby Book Cat named Moe, who greets everyone, likes to sit and talk, or be carried about and petted. We specialize in both modern and old-and-rare items for the collector and pleasure reader, as well as the scholar, with over 30,000 volumes and 75,000 vintage postcards: leather bindings, hardcovers and paperbacks, books that have been read and loved, the books that make one's heart sing; wonderful-to-hold-in-your-hand volumes. On any day, you may find signed documents, a letter from W. H. Auden, a leatherbound first edition of Johnson's Tour, a paperback Faulkner, vintage catalogs and automotive ephemera, etchings, atlases, bookends, original bookcover paintings, or real-photo postcards and photographs. We will send email JPG file color images of any item upon request. _________________________________________________________________________ Our store is quiet and unique, and an easy walk to downtown East Lansing, hotels, and Michigan State University. M.S.U is the original land-grant college and is known for its beautiful horticulture gardens and spacious river-centered campus. _________________________________________________________________________ We offer free parking in our large, private lot and are 1 mile east of US-127 freeway, 1 mile from the Amtrak-bus station, 5 blocks from downtown East Lansing, and 15 minutes from the Capital City Airport in Lansing. _________________________________________________________________________ There is a semi-annual bookfair in Lansing, the Michigan Antiquarian Book and Paper Show; we have booths at each show and can provide information about the bookfair, dates, hotels, football games, and maps upon request. We are open 7 days a week, except for major holidays, and welcome all new visitors. Please come in and spend time in our rocking chair with a nice book and our purring lap cat, Moe.
