A Sikorksy S-42 "on the beach".
This image was taken from an 8" by 10" original photograph dated 4-15-36. The "822M" on the tail makes this "The Brazilian Clipper".
The tail wheel and side gear were temporarily added while the plane was in the water. Then it was
pulled up the ramp onto the land by a Caterpillar tractor with rubber cleats.
