About High Castle Books, IOBA
Hi! My name is Leigh Holleschau, proprietor of High Castle Books. We are located in the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas, about five miles from the Mexican border. The best-known city which people commonly associate with the area is Brownsville.Rather than divide our stock up into seemingly endless categories, I have coded each item with multiple keywords. This way you can create your own categories. The best way to do this is to use the ‘search our inventory’ function below, rather than the 'browse' function, since 'search' accepts not only keywords, but author, title, publisher and other information. For example you could enter the keyword 'mystery' to see all mysteries in stock, and you could further refine your search by selecting the 'first edition' option as well, thereby displaying only first edition mysteries, etc.
High Castle Books is a member of the Independent Online Booksellers Association, which is a professional organization dedicated to maintaining and enforcing high ethical and professional standards for its member booksellers. You can visit the IOBA site at www.ioba.org, where you will find their Mission Statement, Code of Ethics, and the “Book Buyer’s Bill of Rights”, as well as a Member Directory and The Standard, the organization’s newsletter.
Here is IOBA’s“Book Buyer’s Bill of Rights”
Sometimes the Internet feels like the savage jungle, but you deserve a civilized experience when buying books online. No matter where you shop, you have the right to:
Accurate Descriptions - As a buyer, you deserve complete descriptions that include publisher, edition and condition. Any flaws should be noted.
Reasonable Returns - Anyone can make a mistake, but it should be correctable. Dealers should have clearly-stated returns policies and should always refund for items misdescribed.
Delivery of Product - When you order online, you should receive your book or have your payment refunded. Don’t let anyone tell you different.
A Pleasant Buying Experience - You deserve courteous communications, timely responses and professional service.
Members of the Independent Online Booksellers Association follow a code of ethics that requires all this and more. Watch for the IOBA mark as you shop online, or find an IOBA dealer in your area of interest at:http://www.ioba.org/membersearch.html
