LincBook was established in 1931 in Providence, R.I. as Lincoln Book Shoppe. It was founded by Samuel Lincoln Ephraim (1903-1968), who amassed over 200,000 out-of-print and rare books, pamphlets and ephemera. It has been carried on by his son, Harold Ephraim and his wife, Linda. The firm was moved from Providence to Foster, Rhode Island, a rural community on the Connecticut border, in 1980.
