Although we have a diverse inventory, we have particularly strong holdings in philosophy, literature, history and the arts. We began selling through catalogues and at book fairs, opened a brick-and-mortar store in 1994, and began listing online in 1999. Ninety-percent of our holdings are out-of-print books. While most of our customers are in the U.S. and Canada, we do a goodly business overseas.

For any method of payment other than credit card processed by Abebooks, please contact Upstart Crow directly. Prices are net to all. Books may be returned within 10 days of receipt only if not in the condition described or if in error we have shipped you a book other than the one you ordered. If you wish to return a book for any other reason, please email us to ask permission and please provide an explanation. Shipping Terms:
Orders usually ship within 2 business days. Shipping costs are based on books weighing 2.2 lb., or 1 KG. If your book order is heavy or oversized, we may contact you to let you know extra shipping is required.
For our customers inside the U.S., economy shipping is $3.85 per book with an additional $2 if the title is two volumes or if a second title is ordered. Domestic priority rate is $7 for a single book and $10 for a two-volume title. For our customers outside the U.S., shipping rates vary, but are often quite modest. Global air to the UK and to most European countries is $14. Please inquire! We will quote shipping costs on multi-volume sets and large, heavy books.
