OTHER POINTS OF INTEREST

Right around the corner from here is a European butcher shop where you can buy BISON, DEER, OSTRITCH, EMU and BOAR PIES.Around the corner is the Phoenix, a great antique furniture and restoration outlet.

As well, the most famous home made candy shop, in Quebec, STILLWELL'S is just a block or two away...and of course the most famous LACHINE RAPIDS...a richeness to discover.

The Lachine Rapids constitute a natural obstacle that has had a deep influence on the colonisation of North America and the creation of Montreal.
Stretching more than 15 kilometers, the rapids region includes the La Prairie Bassin and represents a unique ecosystem at the center of which there is a migratory bird sanctuary. Among its habitants - more than 225 species of birds - 66 species of fish - beavers, muskrats and many other mammals, amphibians and reptiles - more than 800 heron and black crown night heron nests forming the biggest mixed species heronry in Quebec. Located only 15 minutes from downtown Montreal the Lachine Rapids and Bronx Books constitute one of the most important stopovers for migratory waterfowl and tourists in the region.

"If you can handle poking through little rooms of a house that are piled with books from floor to ceiling, this is the place for you. Rare and racy, Harlequin to cook books to required reading, they're all here..."
Smart Shoppping with Sandra Phillips 'The Montreal Gazette', Jan 25, 2001.
