A. AbeBooks, in partnership with CNITION, is now offering customers
the opportunity to check our prices wherever you are (currently
USA only). Whether you are at home or at a bookstore, just
text the ISBN you are interested in to ABEBKS (223257)
and we’ll text you back with the lowest new price of the
book currently on our site. You will be prompted to reply “fwd
<youremail>” to be forwarded all the links of the
books you requested in the last hour to your e-mail. Q.
How do I get this service?
A. Just text the ISBN to ABEBKS (223257) and we’ll
send the price back to you. This is a one-time text reply and
we will not text you again unless you request info on another
book. If you text a 10 digit ISBN, you will receive a 13 digit
ISBN back prefaced with the numbers 978
ESSENTIAL TIPS:
1) Enter ISBN’s without spaces or dashes (eg. 0131457578).
2) Do not use multiple ISBNs per text.
3) When forwarding the link to your email do not use brackets
or quotations. Simply place a space between the forward command
and your email. (eg. fwd youremail@email.com)
4) If you are searching multiple books you only need to reply
with your email the first time you are looking for a book. Thus,
if you are forwarding your queries to email, we remember your
email for one hour and will send all the links of the books
you requested to your e-mail. This way you don’t have
to reply after every query.
Q. What does it cost?
A. This service is non-premium however, you may incur standard
text messaging fees (sending/receiving/air time) from your wireless
provider depending on individual carrier policies. Please check
with your wireless provider if you have questions regarding your
service plan.
Q. How do I stop this service?
A. There is not need to stop this service as it is by a request-only
process. You text us with the ISBN and we will text you back once.
We will not message you again unless you request info again. You
can also text STOP to ABEBKS to stop.
Q. What if I click on the link in the e-mail and it’s
a different price?
A. Many books, especially textbooks sell quickly. Therefore our
stock varies and the link will take you to the search results
where you can view all the copies that we have.
